Introducing....
the Top 7 Summer Slim Down Finalists

#1 Bonnie S.

~ Bonnie S. Mom of Three (ages 8, 5 and 3) IL

"I have been in tears reflecting on the beginning of my journey. I put it in a reply somewhere earlier in the week, but in case you didn't see it, I'm so glad I found FYM one depressed night of googling six weeks ago!"

Bonnie lost 10 pounds, 5 inches off her mommy belly and 2 inches off her hips.
She followed the Workouts outlined in FitYummyMummy.com

My Biggest Summer Body Breakthrough was....

A change in my attitude and outlook about working out.
I was CONVINCED the only way my stomach would ever see the light of day again was if I had a tummy tuck...I used to spend HOURS doing cardio, getting nowhere and away from my family. So I set my goals to flatten my stomach.

Physically my body looks quite different for six weeks. But more importantly, my outlook on life has transformed, and that's what's going to allow me to KEEP transforming. I had so much of my self esteem tied up into my very heavy stomach, and now that it's gone (going), I feel like I can do anything - like wear a 2 piece again after nine years of being a mother. Nine years I'd put myself on the back burner, not even realizing that I could be a BETTER mother to my children if I had patience and energy, both of which I gained from this challenge. Now I know I CAN get my body back (even better as Holly says). And I'm GONNA! Just watch me!

#2 Denise S.

~ Denise S. Age 36, Mom of Two (ages 9 and ) and was a gestational carrier in 2011,
Berwick, ME

"I tried this challenge last summer and bailed out, but have been doing some of my "old" FYM workouts sine January RELIGIOUSLY and have lost 16lbs and over 16 inches....I know I can do this!"

Denise lost 13 pounds, 4 inches off mommy belly and 2.5 inches off her hips.
She followed Phase 2 and 3 of the Trouble Spot Solution Workouts

My biggest summer body breakthrough was....

the focused attention on my nutrition, potion sizes and intake of protein!!

My goals included really following portion sizes and for me, keeping a food journal that included calories and protein was immensely helpful!! I TOTALLY think that was the key (and maybe the start of the Prograde Metabolism kicked me in the buns, too). But I really wanted to slim my tummy and back fat -- gross! And I did these things!!!!

I am absolutely amazed and astounded with my results and actually re measured and re-added/subtracted a couple times because it seems unbelievable!!! And I truly believe it is because of my nutrition (being true to portion sizes, minding my caloric intake in regards to overeating even healthy foods and focusing on getting a lot of protein)! I have been laser focused on my workouts: not missing ONE SINGLE ST or Interval and completing all finishers! I feel great about this and about myself!!! I am becoming the best me, the best mom, the best wife, I can be and it is because I chose to make this healthy switch for a better life!!!!

#3 Emma H.

~ Emma H. Age 33, Mom of Two (ages 2 and 7 months) Sydney Australia

"You don't gain anything by wishing or by giving up when it gets uncomfortable; you push through and get the results. I used to stop (or put in a half-hearted, going through the motions effort) in the beginning when it got - what I thought painful - but it was really my body screaming because it was getting pushed out of its comfort zone!"

Emma lost 7.5 pounds, 3 inches off her mommy belly and 1.5 inches off her hips.
She followed the Trouble Spot Solution Workouts

My biggest summer body breakthrough was....

getting honest about my eating habits.

After my coaching call with Holly I gained new insight into food and how keeping a food diary can help make a huge difference. It is amazing how much of an impact food makes in trying to achieve results.

I also read a very interesting article about celebrity trainer Gunner Peterson he basically said that to get results you need to avoid being a closet eater and if you were to put all the food that you eat in secret out in front of other people and eat it in front of them you would not do it. I found that to be a very good way of looking at things since my whole eating addiction started out in secret.

Learning the importance and the true value of food (for nutrition not for comfort) has been the biggest difference maker throughout this challenge.

#4 Lindsay C.

~ Lindsay C. Age 33, Mom of Two (ages 3 and 1), Louisville, NE

"6 weeks ago I decided to take a leap...I had been fooling around with weight loss for months, following the birth of my second child. Resistant to all the fad diets that my friends and family were trying out, I was determined to find a balance of healthy diet and exercise...One night, in moment of desperation, I took a stab at trying something slightly different. I shot out a Google search for "Losing that postpartum weight." Fit Yummy Mummy was one of the first results from my search."

Lindsay lost over 8 pounds, 3 inches off her mommy belly and 2 inches off her hips.
She followed the Busy Mom Workouts of the Month which change up every 4 weeks at ClubFYM.com

My biggest summer body breakthrough was....

the workouts...I love how they were tailored to a busy mom's crazy schedule.

The first few weeks of the challenge I noticed immediate changes in my abdomen and my general well-being. My abdomen quickly transformed to flat and soft with my new diet changes. I was SO pumped by the immediate results! I had tried other "diets" before and had been hungry and fatigued through the initial weeks. To my surprise, I didn't experience any of these things with FYM! I felt great and loved how my body responded to the changes I was making.

I have gained more confidence and have enjoyed planning more healthful foods into my family's diet. The changes in the tone in my arms, the lift and shrinking in my butt, and the softening and flattening of my abs have been so rewarding. Can't wait for the transformation to continue!

#5 Madelein R.

~ Madelein R. Age 40, Mom of Three (ages 14, 10 and 8 months), Pretoria, South Africa

"This is the first time ever, I've set realistic and achievable goals! By breaking up my ultimate goal into smaller "chunks" and different segments, I stayed focused throughout the 6 weeks of the challenge."

Madelein lost 18 pounds, over 4 inches off her mommy belly and 3 inches off her hips.
She followed the Workouts outlined in FitYummyMummy.com

My biggest summer body breakthrough was....

Consistency! Being consistent with my workouts and nutrition is the key factor of my success!

I treated this challenge as if it was the last one ever and the only time left to get my body back in shape. This was do or die! For the first time ever, I can say that I've finally grasp the FYM concept -- consistent workouts + clean eating = GREAT results!

In the past I used to: 1). focus 80% on my workouts and 20% on nutrition and expected to get amazing results and 2). treated my body as a trash can (anything goes), and expected that by doing my workouts, it will counter balance my unhealthy eating and still get amazing results.

Since taking charge on 15 June 2012 of my body, of who I am, of who I want to be, of how I want to look and feel, of what kind of role model I want to be for my children, of what I eat, I have regained my self worth and respect, as well as zest for life and so much more. My new occupation is body sculpturer and I love the changes I'm seeing in my body due to the work of my own two hands and FYM!

#6 Renee G.

~ Renee G. Age 26, Mom of Two (ages 3 and 19 months) Houston, TX

"After a year and a half of FYM, it finally "clicked"... the workouts became a part of my routine (even the intervals!), the clean eating was less of a chore, and more of a pleasant choice, the moments that I found myself going astray, I was able to stop and re-focus on my goals. With consistency and support, I completed the challenge (first time ever to last this long in a challenge) and I have achieved amazing results!"

Renee lost 2 pounds, 3.5 inches off her mommy belly and 2 inches off her hips
and gained tighter thighs and butt!
She followed the Workouts outlined in FitYummyMummy.com

My biggest summer body breakthrough was....

Consistency and Accountability.

I did not miss a workout and impressed myself by using weights and pushing through three rounds each time! Along with the support of my husband (who followed along with me for the 1st 4 weeks) , I sought accountability buddies in the forums, which gave me a turbo-boost into the final weeks of the challenge

My external changes include some serious inch-loss and an insane amount of tone (never thought I'd see some of these muscles again). I'm not at all surprised that the scale didn't change much, as I am so. much. stronger. Places that used to be ...how to put this delicately... better candidates for jello advertisements than jello, itself... are now rock solid, especially in my legs and butt. My core is much stronger, and my tummy shows it - I can see my abs again, and I LOVE the sight!

Internally, I am a NEW WOMAN. I am stronger, healthier, happier, more active, less-irritable, a water-drinker and no-longer soda-dependent, more present to my children, closer to my husband who participated in the challenge with me. I went into this challenge as a stress-ball with a pretty grey outlook, and I came out of the challenge cool as a summer cucumber with a sunny-blue-sky outlook (even before my coffee!).

#7 Sally S.

~ Sally S. Age 38, Mom of Two (ages 5 and 6 months), Chambersburg, PA

"My Results are a testament to pulling together the various aspects of a FYM lifestyle and good planning."

Sally lost 8 pounds, 3 inches off her mommy belly and dropped
from a size 14 to a size 12.
She followed the Trouble Spot Solution Workouts

My biggest summer body breakthrough was....

Planning - which lends to Consistency.

When I started the Trouble Spot Solution workouts, I had in mind a philosophical essay on the nature of human fallibility authored by Samuel Gorovitz and Alasdair MacIntyre (I read about in the book Checklist Manifesto by Atul Gawande). The question the essay addressed: Why do we fail in what we set out to do in the world? After a lot of deep thinking, the philosophers came up with three reasons.
1) Necessary fallibility--some things are just impossible or totally beyond our control.
2) Ignorance--not having the knowledge.
3) Ineptitude--not applying the knowledge we have consistently or correctly.

I gave some serious thought to how this relates to my FYM efforts. If I failed, I wouldn't be able to say: "It was entirely beyond my control." There are too many women with wonderful success stories. I wouldn't be able to say that I didn't have the knowledge. Holly lays everything out regarding nutrition and exercise. That left ineptitude, which is kind of a harsh, but it gets at something.

I decided the key to success for me would be planning.

Before beginning the Trouble Spot Solution workouts, I scheduled them on a workout calendar. It has been so rewarding to see the workouts get crossed off one by one. On Friday nights, I mapped out all of my meals for the week. I went grocery shopping on Saturday mornings so that I would have the produce and protein I needed on hand. At night before bed, I made a to-do list that included everything I hoped to get done the next day including my meals and workouts.

Holly often says "Failing to plan is planning to fail." I can definitely say that I did not fail to plan.
