The Top 6 Holiday Hottie Challenge Finalists
#1 Emily

~ Em "AC1" Age 34 Littles - Daniel 8.5yo, Jason 5Again and a half, Meredith 4.5yo, Malcolm 13.5 months, Chicago
Weight- 157lbs / 155lbs -- 2lbs Lost Belly @ Belly Button -- 38" / 37" - 1" Lost Hips- 40.5" / 39.5" - 1" Lost Lost 2lbsand 5.5 Inches Lost Forever!
The FYM lifestyle is simple. NOT easy, but simple. And it really is. My main challenges these past 21 days were staying focused and not rewarding myself for getting the shopping done, the crafting done, the baking done, the meal planning for our various events with food. Get the shopping done eat a cheese cake. Get the crafting done, order pizza. Etc.
My entire life I've been rewarded for doing well with food and I carried that over to my adult life. I'm now breaking that cycle, not only w/the littles, but with myself. It's still easier to make better choices when my focus on them than it is myself, but I'm getting there. I LOVED that this short, intense challenge required laser focus (thanks for that great term!) and not only kept me on track during this holiday season but allowed me to loose weight and inches! I *never* would have thought you could lose weight and inches in December unless you did some sort of crazy grapefruit/colon cleansing/hard boiled egg only diet along with hours of working out. THANK YOU Holly for sharing what works with me!
#2 Renee

~ Renee, Age 26, FYM Prodigal Daughter, Mama of a nearly 3 yr old, and a 1 yr old, Texas
Measurements Height: 5'5" Weight: 125..........................118 = down 7 lbs. Size: 4..............................2ish = down 1 size Belly Button: 31.....................27 = down 4 inches Hips: 35.5.............................33 = down 2.5 inches
My goal for the challenge was to have a healthier, leaner, stronger body and mind, and I can undoubtedly say I have met this goal. My reason was to look and feel better, and I do!
The thing I loved the most was my realization that indulgences do not have to be off the deep end... I can enjoy holiday treats in moderation without sabotaging my body. When I started making better choices without depriving myself of my favorite holiday treats, I felt a complete 180 degree turn from feeling either guilty about missing out on everything or guilty about over doing it!
This was an excellent Christmas gift to myself - to come out of the holidays much better than when I went in! LOVE IT!
#3 Stephanie

~ Stephanie C, 4 children: 9, 6, almost 4 and 20 months, Wells, ME
Stats: Belly: 30 to 29.5 (-.5!) Weight: 116 (no change) These three weeks were fun, fast and festive! I got through them with a flair I have never possessed before. I have never felt more fabulous, fantastic or physically fit as I do today.
I wanted to work on shaping my body to feel hotter than ever and use this mini challenge as a spring board to the NYTC12. I am at the point where huge weight loss and jaw dropping changes are not as noticeable to the general public. Now it is about defining, toning and strengthening my body in ways that challenge myself and impress only myself. I also wanted to be proud of what I have accomplished over a year's time. These three weeks were a great way to remind myself just what I had actually accomplished over a year's time. Being proud of my transformation process and happy with where I am at and where I am headed was really what this challenge was for me. I AM NOT THE WOMAN I WAS A YEAR AGO. I never plan to go back! I love that I am now at the fitness level where I can really use these to my advantage and make them my own personal hurdles to get over. I only work against myself and I only can compare me to myself or myself to me!
#4 Katrina

~ Katrina Hamel, Age 28, Mom of two boys ages 4 and 6, Alberta, Canada I am 5'8" 145lbs Size 9/10
My Measurements are unchanged, although my body composition must be different as clothes are fitting looser and I am getting compliments on how trim I look!
What I loved most about the challenge was that it pushed me further than I would naturally push myself. I also loved how I did not gain the usual 5 Christmas pounds!
My First Challenge is done and done! I am so happy I did decide to join the HTC, because I did not gain the usual 5-10 pounds that I get around this time of year! I gained a lot of compliments, confidence, and I am proud of myself for pushing myself to excercise and eat right when surrounded by all sorts of indulgences. I upped my kneeling push-ups with good form from 4 to 7, and felt my strength grow as I did burpees everyday. My jeans are fitting a bit loser, I can do my belt up a notch tighter, and I my belly feels flatter and firmer to me. My arms look a little more defined to me, and my thighs seem to jiggle a little less!
#5 Brooke

~ Brooke, Age 33, Mother of two, a 5 1/2 year old girl and almost 4 year old boy, Mead, Colorado Stats: Height: 5'8" Weight: 155 lbs. - 150.5 lbs. Lost -4.5 lbs.!! Mommy Belly: 36.5" 35.25" Lost-1.25"!! Hips: 40.5" 40" Lost-.25"
I loved that this challenge was between Thanksgiving and Christmas and that it was just 21 days! What a perfect time to stay on track and with a short time frame, it was easy to commit!
My goal was to concentrate on the nutrition part for this challenge and I think I made major progress! I also wanted to get through the holidays this year without feeling guilty, bloated, and down right awful after over-indulging. I am thrilled to say I feel GREAT even after two days of indulging! I don't feel any guilt because I worked hard when it mattered and I am already Back on Track!
I actually LOST weight during the holidays, 4.5 pound to be exact!!! Besides what my stats say, I also have achieved something very important to me...I have been on antidepressants for the last year after struggling with postpartum depression. After starting the FYM lifestyle in October and more recently completing the Holiday Hottie TC, I was able to get off the antidepressants!!! My mood is SO much better, my outlook, and in general, my overall well being is back on track. This is something that I cannot put a price on...to be in control of my emotional well being without the use of drugs.
I am so happy to be taking care of myself and putting myself first in order to be a better mother and wife! . I am STILL starting my day with 21 burpees even though the challenge is over!
One of the keys to my 21 day transformation I think, was commitment. I truly committed to the process and it shows! The FYM lifestyle has truly changed my life.I look forward to continuing my journey as a Fit Yummy Mummy! I believe I should be a finalist in the Holiday Hottie Transformation Challenge because I have proved that even in 21 short days, transformations CAN and DO happen!
#6 Jana

~ Jana, mother to 2 boys: 2 year old Kian and 2 month old Dax, The Pas, Manitoba Stats: Weight 164 ~ 154 Lost - 10 lbs!! Belly button 36.5 ~ 34 Lost - 2.5" Hips 42 ~ 40.75 Lost - 1.25" I started this challenge with one goal in mind- to re-establish the good habits I had a year ago, before becoming pregnant with my second child. If I did this once, you can bet I can do it again. I would not be stopped! This challenge was so pivotal for me. I really needed to get back on track.
I was so pumped up to start my new transformation that I started Dec. 1st instead of waiting for the beginning of this challenge. Why wait? Why not start immediately? By the time I took my "before" photos, I'd already noticed a difference in my tummy, after only a few days.
I've noticed so many changes in only 21 days! I'm much more energetic (even though I'm still tired just having a small baby- 3 months old right now) and am generally feeling so much more positive and ambitious. My life is falling back into place in every way. I'm regaining my strength and endurance, and I'm having an easier time keeping up with my 2-yr-old.
Physically, I am absolutely ASTOUNDED at the results I've been able to achieve in only 21 days!!! The major thing that I can attribute to these physical changes is a clean diet... regardless of anything else, if I missed a workout, if I was perfectly exhausted, I made sure that the one thing I did consistently was to eat clean.
Another big thing for me was to follow Holly's instructions to the letter. I did every challenge, the burpees, planks and mountain climbers every day, and listened to the coaching calls. Basically, I just did what Holly told us to do- I did what WORKS. And guess what? IT WORKED!
I'm so darn proud of myself for making the necessary changes to get my body and self-confidence back! I've made such a turnaround from where I was ...I'm back on track, following the FYM lifestyle, and one huge step closer to getting my body back. I have re-established trust in myself, and I feel like nobody and nothing can stop me! So see you next challenge!
