Maria is your Sugar Support Coach

I am Maria Simpson, busy mom to 5 wonderful children.

The oldest is 11 and my baby just turned 2. So needless to say I am very short on time and only have a short window to get in exercise.

I am so thankful I found Holly and FYM. I was at a point where I was feeling so fat and down on myself. I was faithfully working out 5 days a week running and doing exercise videos but nothing was changing. I was so frustrated. Then I found Fit Yummy Mummy! I knew it was the answer I was searching for.

I started right away.

It was hard for me, but I quit running and focused on following the FYM plan to the letter. Almost instantly I started noticing results. I had energy through the roof and my clothes were getting looser. I still found that runner's high during intervals. I had great success!! I was even chosen as a finalist in the first transformation challenge held here at club FYM.

I was almost content with the way I looked so I of course got a little lax with my nutrition.

I was addicted to sugar.

I ate it all of the time. I thought I could eat whatever I wanted because I was so close to my goal and I worked out religiously. Well, after being stuck at the same weight for about 8 months and never missing workouts I realized that my nutrition really did need an overhaul.

I decided to go off of sugar and see how that worked.

It was hard.

The first week was almost impossible but after the initial detox I started feeling better and I noticed my cravings were going away. My skin was clearer and my hair was shinier and I lost a couple of pounds. This lasted for 4 weeks until I decided I would add sugar back in sparingly. Whoa, that didn't happen. Once I had it I wanted it all the time. So for the last few months I have been battling with my sugar addiction. For those of you who know me, this has been my hardest challenge.

I did some personal reflection and realized I had better get off this roller coaster ride with sugar, so I quit cold turkey.

Once again, the first 4 days were awful.

Sugar takes about 3 days to get out of your system. Once I detoxed again I realized I was in a better place. I realized I was in control of food. There were no cravings. I was faced with many temptations and I learned it was okay to say no. I started craving healthy food. My mind was clearer and I had new found energy like never before. I didn't have the binges where I wanted to eat everything in sight. I knew I had found my happy place. This was where I wanted to be and stay.

I am proud to say I am sugar free and loving it!!

I know that one day I will incorporate planned indulgences with sugar back into my diet but I know that they will be few and far between and I will wait until I am confident that it won't spin me out of control again.

Now I am here to help you with one of your most challenging aspects of fat loss. Sugar. I have been there. I know what it is like to be under the influence of sugar. I know what it takes to rid your system of it. I have discovered little secrets to help battle the beast! I am here to help you to do the same so you can experience the other side. It is great over here and I want you to join me.

Together we can do this!
