Marloes- Your FYM Pregnancy Expert!

A Fit Yummy Mummy Through Pregnancy and All

Like all other mom's, I am a very active mom to three very active little boys all under the age of 5! I love being a mom, no question about it, some days are better than others for all of us but we take each day as it comes! All I want for my children is a healthy life filled with happiness and a Healthy Mum means Healthy Children!

The Fit Yummy Mummy lifestyle could not have come at a better time in my life!

Being on my second maternity leave in 2007 I was introduced to Holly and the Fit Yummy Mummy system through a friend of ours, Craig Ballantyne.

As a Kinesiologist, I was in search of personal training advice for my career and in turn I came across this amazing woman who, what it seemed like at the time, designed a program tailored just for me and my busy life!! It was just what I needed and it just made sense!

Four months of faithfully following the workouts and changing the way we were eating (I really thought we were eating healthy on a whole…WOW was I in for a shock!), resulted in a loss of 20lbs and 8.75 inches removed. I went from wearing a size 12 to buying my first pair of size 8. I have no idea how many years it has been since I've worn a size 8, likely the start of high school! I actually bought my first pair of size 8 pants on the same day that I met Holly for the first time in Toronto in April 2008!! What an experience and success to be able to share with her that day!

The weekend of Mother's Day 2008 we found out we were again expecting, unknowingly to us! WOW! Another baby on the way, we were thrilled! I also knew that I was going into this pregnancy in the best shape I had ever been! I knew the principles of the program and had my strategies down pat, now I just had to follow them and continue on the path to being a Fit Yummy Pregnant Mommy!

I was able to follow the program for the first 25 weeks of my pregnancy and even joined the Summer Transformation Challenge up to week 6. After this point, things began to change and it became increasingly harder to go through the workouts the way I had been and not be uncomfortable or experience stress. I modified the program each step of the way, any exercises that I was unable to do comfortably or that I should have avoided I substituted with another one. I reviewed the exercise archives for ones that were easy to modify for a growing belly!

We were blessed with another baby boy and even though I took some time to recoup and get acquainted with my little guy I was back into doing the Introductory workouts three weeks post partum as I joined the New Years Transformation Challenge! I have never felt better than I do right now, I credit my speedy recovery on having taken care of myself throughout my pregnancy and being as strong as I was.


  

I have taken charge of my health and I am forever grateful to Holly for coming into my life and introducing me to a lifestyle so practical and achievable! Fit Yummy Mummy is a lifestyle anyone can follow, young, old, sedentary, active, pregnant or not…if you stick to it you will achieve it! I am here to support all Fit Yummy Mummy's at any stage of their life.
