Featured Fit Yummy Mummy: Annik

What's even more amazing about Annik? She is a new mom ~ her baby girl is just 6 months old! So how did she do it?

Our very own, sweet and lovely Annik tells all…

"I began my journey the beginning of November 2008. I really had no idea what was in store for me. I just knew when I read Holly's offer on the Fit Yummy Mummy e-book, that this was something entirely different then what I had done before.

Having become a mum only 3 months earlier, I knew I had to get back to the gym, but I had no motivation at all to go back to my previous routine of doing 1 hour of BORING cardio, and 1 hour of slacking through resistance-training that took SO long before I could see any results at all.

As I look back, I can see how fast I started noticing results. Only two weeks into this program, my husband, my sister, my parents, and myself, we all started noticing how my body transformed literally from week to week.

Bear in mind I have been working out ALOT over the years, with or without a trainer/coach, and yes, I have gotten results before, but I had to work SO much harder and spent ALOT more time in the gym and at the track-course then I will ever do again! Wow- -Feels VERY GOOD to know that!!

Well I gave it my best shot but I didn't succeed at keeping it up during the holidays. I got caught up in the whirlwind, and before I knew it, I was back to not prioritizing myself again. Very disappointed in myself …..But hey! New year, new chance at getting it right! So I entered the New Years Transformation Challenge.

Now here I am 4 weeks later and OMG the results are beginning to show!

And I look so much more upright now, more proud of myself. I can totally see my attitude has changed towards my own body. Strange how I don't see this everyday! I am so glad now I took those dreaded before-picks. I almost had a meltdown after I'd posted them, but that person is no longer me, and that is a strange, but GREAT feeling.

The biggest difference makers…
~ Do Something!!!! The greatest lesson I've learned is that I cannot simply sit around and wait to become the best version of myself. I have to CHOOSE to be that person every single day. Which puts me in control of myself, and the impact I have on the people around me.


~ Yes you have to work at it This transformation has been one of the most challenging times in my life. However, I learned that I don't have to be perfect. I'm not perfect. Very relieving….Phew!


Progress not perfection! It's okay to cut myself some slack, and to realize the enormous task it is to become a mother.


~ Food and Mood I find that tweaking my diet has had a huge impact! Not just on how quickly my belly and body changed shape, but also my mood is. I no longer have the mood swings I used to!


~ My Fit Yummy Mummy workouts Working out 3 times a week is a must - resistance training followed by intervals.

I always was a quitter, but the Fit yummy mummy workouts give me so much energy - so needed as a new mom - and it is easy to stick with. I mean, 90 mins a week. I can afford that, or rather, I CAN'T afford not to!!
~ Support!!!! The ONLY thing that can get me back in the saddle when I've fallen off, is the support here from ClubFYM. I cannot stress enough the importance of having this group behind me. I never imagined I could ever learn to ask for help, and to receive it as well!
You beautiful women have helped to pulled me through the toughest time of my life, struggling with sleepless nights, nursing, and keeping myself accountable. I love you for sticking with me, and dragging me along to the other side!
I love having you in my life!

You keep me moving forward! You make me a better person, and help me keep things in perspective.

Week 5 Update.... I'm chugging along like a train. But not just going through the motions!

Getting closer to my goal every day now! I have a pair of skiing pants I never thought I'd wear again... But now, I enclose a picture of me in them, and by the end of this challenge....
